2011 Lux Baseball Season Preview

Lux Baseball went to work this offseason and completely rebuilt its team for the 2011 season.  The roster features players with superior work ethic and impressive speed  from top to bottom.  A total of 11 new players adorn the Lux green and gold, spanning from Marysville-Pillchuck down to Kentridge High.  After an impressive winter session featuring batting instruction from coach Joe Ross, Lux Baseball anxiously awaits the opportunity to compete among the area’s best this summer.

The Lux outfield will be captained by Inglemoor’s Connor Savage in center, with Nick Anthony (Bothell), Blake Wilson (Inglemoor), Austin Johnson (Mountlake Terrace), Danny Larson (Inglemoor), and Lucas Wimmer (Inglemoor) competing for the remaining spots in the starting lineup.

Senior third baseman  Tylor Klep returns for his second year with Lux Baseball captaining the infield at third base.  He is joined by seniors Cameron Bartok and Sean Barlow at first base, Ben Duncan from Shorewood and Adam Jorgenson from Kentridge at second, and juniors Hutton Moyer, Patrick Bernard, Ben Roquet and Lucas Wimmer looking to earn a spot in the middle infield.

Junior Pitcher Trevor Dubois has really taken the reigns and impressed the Lux Coaching staff this offseason on the bump.  He, along with Seniors Cameron Bartok and Connor Savage,  Juniors Lucas Wimmer, Blake Wilson, Patrick Bernard, and Danny Larsen will account for the majority of Lux Baseball’s innings on the hill.  Live arms, extreme work ethic, and the love for competition are common themes among the entire Lux pitching staff.

Lu x will showcase three different juniors behind the dish, Glacier Peak’s Keenan Miller, Mountlake Terrace’s Austin Johnson, and Inglemoor’s Blake Wilson.  All three are extremely athletic and feature an uncontested competitive spirit.

Rich with young talent, Lux looks to recapture it’s winning tradition in 2011.
