|
The 2011 Taylor Baseball team
enters the summer with a roster full of Division talent. Taylor features 12
players on the roster committed to Division 1 schools
on scholarship, and the rest of the roster committed to the areas top
NWAACC schools such as Bellevue College and Edmonds CC.
Infield
The infield features 3 high caliber future D1 scholarshiped short stops that can play SS, 2B, or 3B.
Jourdan Weiks (U of San Francisco 2011), Shea Donlin (WSU 2012) and Michael
Lucarelli (U of Portland 2012) can play anywhere in the infield and are all versatile at
the plate. Marcus Madden (Edmonds CC 2011) and Dylan Wright (2013) will also play 3B
and 2B. Bryan Burgher and Derek Callahan hold down the 1B spot.
Outfield
Taylor is loaded in the outfield led by WSU commit CF Austin Pernell (2012).
Pernell brings game changing speed to the lead off spot and is fun to watch play
CF. Theo Alexander (2012) brings Taylor one of the Northwest's biggest professional
prospects in the 2012 class. Alexander shows tremendous power and hits for high
average. Yale Rosen (WSU) might be the hidden gem of all hidden gems in the last
few years of baseball in the Northwest. Yale will hit in Taylor's clean up spot
this summer and is a legitimate 5 tool player with off the charts make-up.
Victor Mayorquin (2012) brings Taylor speed and versatility to the team. With more
polish, Victor will certainly play at the next level after his senior year.
